The San Diego Dermatological Society is the local organization for dermatologists in San Diego and surrounding areas. The purpose of the Society shall be to promote the highest possible standards for clinical practice and medical education by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas. The Society currently has over one hundred active members in private and academic practice, as well as resident physicians who actively participate. While over 95% of these members are physicians, SDDS does accept membership from non-physicians, such as Physician Assistants and Nurses, who are specializing in dermatologic care.

The Society holds six meetings per year, the annual dinner meeting at which the Annual Richard B. Stoughton Lecture is presented and five clinical meetings which consist of a lecture, patient viewings and review of histopathology with discussion of diagnosis and treatment. The clinical meetings are hosted by the member institutions of the Society, the Scripps Clinic, Naval Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, UCSD Medical Center and Rady Children’s Hospital. All meetings are approved for AMA PRA Category 1 credit. We encourage you to attend the meetings and stay involved.
